Wheel wear performance assessment and model validation using Harold full scale test rig

چکیده
The railway industry has focused on the improvement of maintenance through use novel technologies. Recently, utilisation repair welding to restore worn area wheels been investigated, as it can bring significant savings in wheelset maintenance. Under an Innovate UK AURORA project, a wheel that previously operated London Underground (LUL) was restored using this process. To test its performance and compare with new standard steel grade wheel, HAROLD full scale rig used which LUL vehicle bogie equipped both R9 under representative lateral yaw displacements computed from dynamics simulations. wear measurements carried out at end cycles showed although suffered initial higher wear, levels reduced became similar wheel. Furthermore, full-scale testing provided opportunity validate model predictions were conducted simulations utilised inputs. It found while flange higher, tread estimations smaller than

construction and validation of the translation teacher competency test and the scale of students’ perceptions of translation teachers
the major purpose of this study was to develop the translation teacher competency test (ttct) and examine its construct and predictive validity. the present study was conducted in two phases: a qualitative phase as well as a quantitative phase. in the first phase of the study, the author attempted to find out the major areas of competency required for an academic translation teacher. the second...
Preliminary results on multi-body dynamic simulation of a new test rig for wheel-rail contact
The ability to perform rolling contact fatigue (RCF) experiments in wheel–rail material is provided by a new small–scale test rig, manifesting the actual dynamic behaviour of the railway system. In this paper, a multi-body dynamics (MBD) model is proposed, simulating the vibration behaviour of the prescribed rig. The new testing facility is modelled using a three-dimensional model of the vehicl...
متن کاملPreliminary results on dynamic analysis of a new test rig for wheel-rail contact studies
A new reduced–scale test rig is developed owing to significantly contribute to the applicability of the laboratory tests on rolling contact fatigue (RCF) in wheel-rail material. This paper introduces the dynamic analysis of the test rig, in order to assess the vibration behaviour of the system with respect to contact phenomenon. Finite element modelling (FEM) is used to simulate the mecha...
متن کاملPathogen cross-transmission via building sanitary plumbing systems in a full scale pilot test-rig
The WHO Consensus Document on the epidemiology of the SARS epidemic in 2003, included a report on a concentrated outbreak in one Hong Kong housing block which was considered a 'super-spreading event'. The WHO report conjectured that the sanitary plumbing system was one transmission route for the virus. Empty U-traps allowed the aerosolised virus to enter households from the sewerage system. No ...
متن کاملDevelopment and validation of Iranian children’s participation assessment scale
Background: Participation is mostly cultural and familial based, and there is not any assessment scales for evaluating kids’ participation in Iranian context, therefore the purpose of this study was developing children’s participation assessment scale for Iranian children. Methods: Development of this scale occurred in two phases; phase I: planning: following r...
